Our client, Todd Glover, was a successful veterinarian in the Houston/Galveston area and six years ago his life changed in an instant. On December 27, 2018, he was arrested by Texas Rangers at his home in Webster, TX. He was falsely accused of raping a young lady and sexually assaulting another one on December 2, 2018, at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, LA. Dr. Glover was at Coushatta to attend a rodeo event. On June 21, 2018, our client was indicted on the charges of First-Degree Rape (one count) and Sexual Battery (three counts). On the rape charge he was facing a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment.
The Allen Parish District Attorney’s Office eventually recused themselves and the case was prosecuted by the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office. We have spent the last few years fighting for our client’s freedom and trying to clear his good name that had been unfairly tarnished. There was no evidence to corroborate the false claims made by the two young ladies and the investigation was led by a Texas Ranger that was clearly biased against Dr. Glover.
God smiled upon us yesterday and we finally reached a righteous resolution. Twelve of Dr. Glover’s peers rendered unanimous Not Guilty verdicts on all counts. We began the trial with jury selection on January 13, 2025. The trial was temporarily delayed when we took a Writ to the Third Circuit Appeal. Additionally, the MLK holiday and the snow storm postponed our trial for the entire week of January 20th. However, we resumed this week and we dismantled the State’s weak case piece by piece. The case was not worthy of being prosecuted and the charges should never have been filed. It took the jury only about 90 minutes, which included them eating lunch, to reach these just verdicts. We are extremely grateful to the 12 citizens of Allen Parish that sacrificed their time and patiently performed their civic duty.
Dr. Glover has happily returned to Texas and is in the process of resuming his veterinary practice. It was our pleasure to work with Cody Vidrine, the Loftin Law Group, as co-counsel in this matter.
